How to Plan a Great Vacation
Planning a great vacation for the entire
family to enjoy
can be a very stressful to arrange. Everyone has an idea where to travel to. The
challenge is picking a place everyone will agree to. It is a good idea to pick
a place you have never been before and broaden the mind and the experience.
In
order to make sure the vacation goes as planned it will be important to
carefully arrange everything in advance prior to departure so no serious
surprises will come. Once you decide where to travel to you will then need to
begin the planning process. It is important to involve everyone who will be
traveling so they have their fair say.
If for
example you plan to travel to Holland which is a beautiful place for the whole
family to enjoy. You will now need to decide what will you do there? Depending
the time of year you travel you can see the flower growing or you can visit Van
Gogh Museum or the Rembrandt Museum or the famous car museum called Louwman
Museum and it is located in the Hague.
There
are so many things to do in Holland from taking a city tour, taking one of many
different canal cruises, country side tour seeing old windmills and landscape,
museums, and so much more. The best way is to visit the internet and do a
google search and you will see all the activities you can do in Holland.
Once
you decided where you will be going you will need to arrange your airfare and
hotels. There are many different places to stay in Holland and you will also
see them on the internet. Make sure to check out the reviews of the hotels so
you know what you will be getting. My wife and I arrange all our own vacations
and we are always pleased by doing so even though we have no idea what the
place is really like as we have never been there. But after some research we
were very pleased. By reading the review we can learn a lot about the area and
if it is safe or not.
Sometimes
the hotel pictures look so beautiful but the reviews tell you there is a grave
yard next door or they are near a garbage dump, or an area where some illegal
activities go on, so it is always a good idea to check the reviews before
booking and paying for your hotel.
If you
are on a budget you might want to book your hotels a little bit outside the
city limits you will find there is excellent transportation using the bus system
and the cost is much cheaper than if you are directly downtown. We did and we
were only 15 minutes away from downtown and we saved a lot of money.
Once
you have your flights booked and your hotels taken care of the next is the
attractions. Make sure to call ahead and see if you need to book ahead. I found
if you book ahead it does make things go much smoother as they are expecting
you. Now that you have everything arranged now you can relax and pack your
clothes a least 2 days before departure because this will give you time to
remember if you forgot anything to pack.
It is a
good idea to pack your clothes for both good and bad weather as Holland’s
weather sometimes changes from really hot to all of a sudden a cold rain. I do
suggest you bring an umbrella to be ready in case it does rain or gets to hot.
My wife likes to use the umbrella for when the sun is out to keep the sun off
of her skin as she doesn’t want to burn.
Check
your local book store and see if you can buy a travel guide for the areas you
will be traveling to. I find they are an excellent source of information to
know where to dine, relax and often they will tell you where to get great deals
on different things.
